Useful information
An exclusive, tranquil location, full of vegetation makes this an ideal location for a sporting and relaxing holiday. The base is found inside an extensive residential complex (around 40 km sq) with four golf courses by the beach, tennis courts, horse riding, archery. The beach has comfortable beach beds, bar, beach volley, canoes and dinghies.
Therefore, as well as sailing, other sports can be practiced. The new Marina is the vital centre of the complex where pleasant evenings can be enjoyed shopping and in the local square's venues.
The climate
The climate is optimal: temperature is constant throughout the year (minimum 22°C, maximum 32°C) with easterly/south easterly winds between 10 and 20 knots almost always.
The head office
Situated in the new marina in Casa di Campo near the city of La Romana in the south-east of the island, where the airport is also found. The courses are held at the club head office situated in the brand new port, which has all the required services including supermarket, bars, restaurants, shops and boutiques.
Accomodation
The C.C.Y.C. has put at the school's disposal accommodation for students and instructors comprising of rooms with two and four beds with bathroom and a large hall for theory lessons and relax.
The Casa della Vela is 200 meters from the club and very comfortable. It's half board formula is catered for by the nearby restaurant Rio Marina, where Paolo, the Italian chef, prepares exquisite Italian and local dishes as well as an abundant breakfast.
Course programs
The schedule is as follows:

:: 09.00 a.m.: Breakfast
:: 09.30 a.m.: Theory lesson
:: 10.15 a.m.: Organization of boats and crew and set off to sea
:: 01.30 p.m.: Return to port

In the afternoons it is possible to continue practical lessons from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.. Alternatively, the afternoons can be spent under a palm tree, on the beach topping your tan or practicing other sports.
There are excursions on mega catamarans in the splendid islands of Saona and Catalina : white beaches, palm trees and crystal clear waters.
The velles
There are four new J24s which are robust and fast. J24s are 7.30 mt long monotype sailing boats, perfect for those who want to learn sailing, improve their existing skills and a first approach to regattas. For children there are 4 Optimists and a motor powered dingy for assistance, the perfect vessels for younger students.
